Award-winning architect and the creator of G + Design, Gulla Jonsdottir has lent her design talent to many of LA’s hottest properties — the Hollywood Roosevelt, Thompson Hotel Beverly Hills, Getty Center and Gagosian Gallery included. But one of her favorite local spots can be found right inside the gym. “I love the steam room. The first week I joined I think all I did was steam,” she laughs. Since then Jonsdottir has stepped up her activity level considerably, rotating between sessions on the elliptical, training with weights, and a variety of yoga classes — from Saturday morning flow to evenings by candlelight. “I’m constantly working and juggling projects — 16 right now! — so the yoga is good for my mind, like meditation,” she says. “Plus, working out just makes me happy. It gets the serotonin going and leaves me feeling fresh and revived.” Here’s a look at the pre- and post-workout essentials that help her on the journey:
1 Goyard Croisière duffel
"My black Goyard Croisière duffel bag is not only convenient but timeless. I can easily transform it from my gym bag to a handbag to even a travel bag. It always stays in amazing condition, always elegant, and I love that it's personalized with my initials."
5 Sabena Toor MD Medical Skin Care Brilliance Eye Cream
“I get this anti-aging eye cream from Dr. Toor, my dermatologist. It’s got Vitamin C, Vitamin E and a gentle retinol. It really works.”FIND IT >
9 Adidas by Stella McCartney Broadbill Adizero Lucid Red SO8
“I got these because they’re the loudest color and I thought if I leave them by my door they’ll scream at me, get to the gym! It works, and they’re super-comfortable.”FIND IT >
