Cows are indulging in dessert. Yes, really.

While you wouldn't dare feed on sugar-loaded, trans-fat-happy cakes, cookies and candy bars, you may be eating an animal who does. As recently reported in Wired magazine, after severe drought last summer led to the destruction of corn crops, dessert turned out to be the next best thing for farmers to feed their cattle. Nutritionists help mix the sweets (only a tenth of a cows' daily food) with other feed, and the energy from the sugar molecules provides energy and aids milk production.
